A short dialogue

X: “Ape nie rambut panjang? Gunting la sikit.. baru lah professional”

Me: “Takpe la panjang.. Nak simpan. Kalau nak ikut professional pun, Analyst memang biasenya berambut panjang” (the place that i’m working now has no issue with long hair)

X: “Tak baik betul.. Ikut la ADAT sket.. Gunting pendek”

It is not that hard to use Google.. Am I right, person X? (who is/was sooo called an IT person) (MP3 Ustaz Azhar Idrus aku pun search kat Google je mula-mula dulu.. Owh ya.. just now I’ve found some ‘PUBLIC’ staffs’ informations documents that belong to a BIG local Telco coMpany.. also found it from Google :P )

Antara hadis-hadis yang menyentuh perkara ini termasuklah:

Aisyah, berkata, yang membawa erti:

“Panjang rambut Nabi Shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam adalah diantara daun telinga, sampai (di atas) bahu”

[Ahmad VI/118, Abu Dawud No. 4187, Tirmidzi no. 1755, Ibnu Majah No.3655]

Dan hadis dari Anas bin Malik Radhiyallahu ‘anhu, yang bererti:

“Adalah rambu beliau Shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam mengobak (ikal), tidak keriting dan tidak pula lurus. (Panjangnya) antara daun telinga dan kedua bahunya”

[Bukhari No. 5563, 5564,5565. Muslim No. 2338]

Manakala Imam Ahmad III/113, 165, Muslim No. 2338 meriwayatkan dengan lafal yang bererti:

“Adalah rambut beliau Shallallahu’alaihi wa sallam sampai pada (batas) tengah-tengah kedua telinganya”.

Hurm.. So.. Person X ?

It all started 40 years ago today, when a couple of computers were connected by a long gray cable in order to pass some data.  The experiment was funded by the Advanced Projects Research Agency (ARPA) and the project was called the ARPANET.  By the end of the year, four sites were connected.  Today it’s hundreds of millions of computers and we call it the Internet.  National Geographic has a story and some video here.  Wikipedia has a nice timeline for the ARPANET here.
