Attention to all xanda.uberphreak file server (upload server) subscriber. I’m gonna upgrade the file server during this mid term break. So I want you all to mail me these details :-

  1. Preferred personal URL (eg: http://www.xanda.org/upload/xanda)
  2. Preferred login name and password

All your previous data will be transferred automatically to your new sub directories.

Virtual Browser

It’s sad to say that uberphreak.net has been banned by MMU (Malacca campus). Any sub domain, including xanda.uberphreak.net cannot be accessed inside the campus anymore.

After realize that may site is no longer accessible… So I manage to find a virtual browser that can be used to spoof the URL and IP. And I found that HideMyAss is the best one. 😉

Yeah!!! Finally I can browse xanda.uberphreak.net inside the campus.. 🙂

Sistem operasi Windows 98, ME dihentikan

MICROSOFT Corp (Microsoft) mengumumkan bahawa ia akan menghentikan khidmat sokongan terhadap sistem opera­sinya (OS) Windows 98 dan Millennium Edition (ME) berkuat-kuasa Selasa lalu yang mana lebih 50 juta masih menggunakannya.

Penganalisis menganggarkan masih terdapat antara 50 juta dan 70 juta komputer beroperasi pada Windows 95, 98 atau ME .

Syarikat perisian utama dunia itu tidak akan menyediakan peningkatan tahap sekuriti, nasihat melalui telefon atau sokongan teknikal lain untuk Windows 98, Windows 98 Second Edition dan Windows ME.

“Ini adalah pengumuman terakhir serta peringatan kepada pengguna yang menangguh atau melambatkan pemindahan daripada Windows 98 atau Windows ME ke Windows XP,” kata kenyataan yang dikeluarkan syarikat berpangkalan di Redmond, Washington itu.

Namun begitu, sokongan maklumat untuk OS lama itu terutama Windows 98 yang diperkenalkan lapan tahun lalu masih kekal diletakkan pada laman web Microsoft.

Microsoft pada asalnya merancang untuk menarik OS berkenaan pada Januari 2004 tetapi menundanya disebabkan meningkatnya persaingan daripada OS Linux ketika itu.

Pengguna yang paling teruk menerima kesan paling teruk akibat pemberhentian sokongan itu ialah pengguna di rumah dan sekolah kerana mereka tidak akan mendapat khidmat sekuriti lagi.
